#KnewRecSuccess - ALL-IN Grantee 2015
Wouldn't it be somethin' to gather your folks over for a locally catered lunch (by a black owned business), with art and real talk about what's really goin' on with the cash-flow - water raging from a busted pipe for lack of better words - in the community. Well, we're doin' just that!
We've been selected to respond to the ALL-IN Alameda County's request for proposals. We're gathering vignettes of lived experience; in an effort to catalyze "understand[ing] ... so that County programs and services can become more responsive and build on community strengths."
Together, 15 organizations have been awarded $50,000 (divided into small grants of between $1000-$5000), to bring resident's expertise to the forefront. How we're using our grant? We're lauching our first Recommendation Repository (pictured to the right)! Our goal is to bring 40 black residents, especially millenneal age youth, to truths on the topics of economic (in)justice.
This opportunity caught our interest because a part ALL-IN's strategy is to "improve family self-sufficiency through an innovative neighborhood-based, micro-enterprise strategy." Right up our alley, indeed!
